RAPHAEL - Character Analysis
Raphael - He is an aloof, challenging mix.
The aloof horse is easiest to define by what he doesn't do. Aloof types interact much less than any of the other types do, and at times this horse will seem to be in his own world. He seems detached or removed from his environment, to the point of being disassociated from it. This type of horse seems to avoid interactions with both humans and fellow equines whenever possible. They rarely "start" an interaction, but that doesn't mean they don't want them.
He likes to test and push boundaries. The challenging type are the least naturally submissive of all of the types, but with the right kind of training and handling, they learn that they need to promptly answer all requests from their handler or trainer. A challenging horse, like Raphael, may need a firm hand at times, but never benefits from an unfair one. The old saying "Give him an inch and he'll take a mile" sums up a challenging personality. Challenging horses can very successfully participate in many or all equine activities.
Meaning & History of the name RAPHAEL From the Hebrew name רָפָאֵל (Rafa'el) which meant "God has healed". In Hebrew tradition Raphael was the name of one of the seven archangels. He appears in the Old Testament in the Book of Tobit, where it is told how he aided Tobias.
