ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE CLINIC - 12-13 March 2016

with Desiree Du Pisane 12 -13 March 2016

Desiree's qualfications are comprehensive as a qualified Equine Therapist (UK and Germany qualified) and a Sports therapy and massage (for people) (UK), with extensive Alexander Technique experience. She works as a therapist in the Escola Portugues de Arte Equestre (EPAE) and lives in Portugal when she is not travelling between Germany, UK, Spain and South Africa.

She combines the classical riding principles with her knowledge of Alexander technique to faciliate a dialogue between the body of the rider and the body of the horse without force. It is through years of working with riders and horses that she has developed Weightless Riding© as a unique method to bring about the most satisfying experience both for the rider and horse in any equine activity.

Based on requests for another clinic with Desiree, we've invited her back to Xenophon Equus Centre.

The Alexander Technique is a system designed to promote well-being by retraining one's awareness and habits of posture, to ensure minimum effort and strain, "a way of learning to move mindfully through life". The technique helps to discover a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension. Since our physical state directly affects both our mental and emotional well-being, people often say they feel calmer and happier, after just a few Alexander sessions.

The central benefits of the Alexander Technique is that it helps us gain awareness of our unconscious patterns of tension and to reduce these.

We invite you to join us on this journey of discovering a holistic partnership with your horse.
