GQ was bred by Paarden Dutch Warmblood Stud, situated on the Breede River in the historic Robertson district of the Western Cape.

BREEDING:
GQ is by the Dutch Warmblood stallion AXEL, a son of DAGERAAD that carries the male line of G RAMIRO Z and METALL – FERRO through his dam. GQ is out of foundation mare SIBERIAN DANCER, who carries the great imported Thoroughbred female mare lines of MARICOPA and MURMANSK.
GQ is a well grown 4 year old
(rising 5 on 17th of October 2016). He is a dark bay (almost black), gelding. Although currently standing at 16.3hh, he still has some growing/maturing time ahead of him.
Physically GQ is at the 'gangly stage', but shows good paces – very light on his feet considering his age and size. He balances himself well during ground work as well as under saddle. His lovely coat colour is attractive, but it is his temperament that makes him everyone’s sweetheart.
With GQ's easy going personality and not having the usual 'flighty' traits of a youngster, he made the start to our relationship easy. Ground work and liberty work are coming along nicely, as he has an unusual patience about him, for one so young. He is motivated to please and has a willingness to perform.
He has recently started under saddle and once again, has surprised me with his softness and eagerness to accept what I ask of him.
As the organic photo's display in his profile, he shows a confident, quiet maturity, not often seen in youngsters. GQ has a solid, sensible temperament, often described by people who meet him for the first time, as being 'calm and loving'.He has a soft eye, is social and loves interaction - a gentle youngster, who is already showing mental maturity in his ground work. While he shows interest in his environment and responds to things going on around him, it's unusual for him to react with fight-or-flight behavior. As long as this horse is handled with consideration and sensitivity, riders will seldom go wrong with this sort. He pays attention to the rider's aids but aren't upset by them. He is both animated and dependable.
GQ's education will now expand in all spheres over the next few months.
