Sartor Amadeus
Snapshots of Work with The Majestic Knabstrupper Stud of South Africa's Mainbook KNN Knabstrupper stallion, Sartor Amadeus. (4 year old at the time) Here is looking at his development in the 10 months of training he had here. Basic foundations were established in this phase. We covered basic lunging, in-hand work, ridden work and had some fun at liberty. He was introduced to different equipment from rope halters to cavessons, the meaning and feel of a bitless bridle, snaffle bit and a curb bit. Pole work, cavalettis, podiums, hoops and ramps have brought variety to his daily training experience. He also gained experience in how to conduct himself during visits from the farrier, equine dentist, veterinarian, saddle fitter and physiotherapist - a part of life as a domesticated horse.
